First sponsors announced for Belfry’s inaugural classic golf day

The Belfry Hotel & Resort has announced Elliott Group and Turkish Airlines as the headline sponsors for its first Belfry Classic Golf Day.

The exclusive event will take place on the resort’s legendary The Brabazon golf course, which has been home to the Ryder Cup more times than any other course in the world.

Turkish Airlines was awarded the Guinness World Record for Most Countries Flown to by Airline in December 2024.

The airline has also been chosen the Best Airline in Europe eight times at the Skytrax World Airline Awards.

Construction firm Elliott Group is leading the build of a state-of-the-art new Leisure Club at The Belfry which is due to open in September.

This follows on from its successful refurbishment of the bedrooms and bar at the famous golfing destination, as well as the expansion of the resort’s restaurant, The Ryder Grill.

Taking place on Thursday 22 May, the invite-only Belfry Classic Golf Day will be hosted by award-winning journalist and broadcaster, Dan Walker.

Celebrities from the world of sport, including football, cricket, horseracing, rugby and athletics, as well as those from music and TV, will come together to play in a four-ball formation on The Brabazon.

Proceeds from the inaugural Belfry Classic Golf Day will go to two of The Belfry’s life- charity partners - Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association and Hospitality Action.
