The first speaker has been announced for the upcoming Quarter Business Report (QBR) launch by the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce (GBCC).

Partner at RSM UK, Richard Eccles (pictured), will be joining the discussion about Greater Birmingham on the global stage.

The free to attend event is happening at Birmingham City University on Thursday, 18 July from 9 am to 11 am.

Richard leads audit, tax and consulting engagements for Global clients in the manufacturing, Industrial and technology sectors.

His key skills around proactivity and client service always ensure that clients receive the full benefit of RSM’s UK and global capabilities.

As well being an audit specialist, Richard is closely engaged with RSM’s full range of tax and specialist teams to ensure that his clients are properly advised on all relevant current and emerging UK and International issues.

Richard has worked closely with the RSM network globally since 2007 and now plays a key role in ensuring clients and teams across the Midlands region have full access to the network.

He is also a member of the firm’s US desk, coordinating activity between the US and UK and sits on the committee of the Greater Birmingham Transatlantic Chamber of Commerce.

Sponsored by Birmingham City University and now a well-established feature in the local business calendar, this event attracts a senior level audience for networking, discussion and intelligence sharing.

The Quarterly Business Report offers an up-to-date snapshot of the performance of the Greater Birmingham business community.

As GBCC’s flagship publication, the QBR is the most comprehensive regular report of its kind in the city-region. Underpinning the report is data gathered from quarterly surveys completed by businesses from across the Greater Birmingham area.

Speaking about the announcement, GBCC director of external affairs Raj Kandola said: “Throughout his tenure at RSM, Richard has played a pivotal role in growing the presence of the Midlands both home and abroad and I’m delighted he’s able to join for our upcoming Quarterly Business Report launch event taking place in July.

“Richard’s breadth of experience and knowledge around global connectivity has helped so many businesses across the region cultivate international ties and help bring prosperity to our region.

“It will be great to hear from Richard firsthand on how we can continue to shine an international spotlight on the region and drive further investment into the West Midlands.”
