Fieldfisher to support Children’s Hospital as new chosen charity
The Birmingham office for European law firm, Fieldfisher, has announced Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity as its chosen charity for the next two years.
The new charity partnership forms part of Fieldfisher’s ‘One Firm Action’ initiative, an annual company-wide programme supporting communities across the UK and Europe.
Launched in 2023, the initiative represents a strong commitment from the firm’s international network to help address local community issues and create a positive impact across the 12 countries it operates within.
As part of the programme, all of Fieldfisher’s 26 offices actively participate in fundraising efforts to support charities of their choice.
The Birmingham office has set a fundraising target of £50,000 for Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, and a schedule of events and activities is currently being planned by the firm's charity committee.
The Birmingham team previously selected Coventry-based hospice, Zoe’s Place, as its chosen charity from 2023 to 2024.
During this time, Fieldfisher Birmingham raised around £40,000 for the charity, which provides specialised care and support for babies and infants up to the age of five.
The Birmingham office is also a founding member of Zoe's Place Business Club - a group of companies established to assist the charity in expanding and developing its commercial network and fundraising opportunities.
Fieldfisher’s ‘One Firm Action’ initiative was one of the leadership pledges from managing partner, Robert Shooter, to empower colleagues to engage with various charitable causes across Europe and beyond.
The firm’s collective efforts have so far raised over £250,000, and with the partnership’s commitment to match funds, the total collective donation stands at £526,000 to date.
Ranjit Dhindsa, Birmingham office leader and head of Employment, Pensions, Immigration and Compliance (EPIC) at Fieldfisher, said: “We’re looking forward to supporting Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity over the next two years, as their work is so important in helping children and their families access expert treatment, care and support.
“It’s an incredibly worthwhile cause, and our charity committee is creating a programme of fundraising events and activities so we can drive as many donations as possible. We hope the money raised will help to support the hospital’s vital work and research, and make a difference to young children and their families in the West Midlands.”
Helen Miles, head of Corporate Partnerships at Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, said: “We’re incredibly grateful to have been chosen as Fieldfisher’s Charity of the Year and can’t wait to see what we’ll achieve together as this special partnership progresses.
“Fieldfisher’s support will help us continue on our mission to create better experiences for our sick kids, through the improvement of our hospital environment and the funding of new equipment and research. We’re over the moon to have them on board.”
