Festive string spectacular set to sparkle in Lichfield

An evening of classic Christmas music, carols and songs from one of the most renowned string quartets in the Midlands is set to bring festive sparkle to Lichfield.

Highly Strung will perform excerpts from The Nutcracker, The Snowman and Frozen, plus Ravel’s Bolero, as well as Christmas Carols and popular Christmas pop hits on Sunday December 10, starting at 7.30pm.

The Highly Strung String Quartet was formed in 1997 and is one of the most renowned quartets in the Midlands. The all-female string ensemble has over 20 years’ experience of playing together, mixing classical music with lighter numbers, jazz and popular repertoire.  

The players all studied at the top music conservatoires in England and have performed widely both in the UK and abroad. As well as their own live concerts, they have also performed in concert, on tour and on television alongside Will Young, Shakira, Rod Stewart, Il Divo, Robbie Williams, Simply Red, Procul Harum and Elton John.
