Experts on Brexit, Belgium and US trade join Chamber conference line-up

More high-profile speakers have joined the line-up for Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce’s Global Business Conference next month.

The conference, taking place on 4 June at Birmingham City University’s Curzon Building, provides a platform for businesses to discuss new international opportunities, discover new markets and learn more about the current trade picture for the UK and the rest of the world.

Among the conference highlights is a panel discussion on business trade relations between the West Midlands and Europe in a post-Brexit environment.

‘Navigating New Frontiers: Business and Trade relations between the West Midlands and Europe post-Brexit’ will feature the director of Birmingham City University’s Centre for Brexit Studies Professor Alex De Ruyter, Crowe UK’s expert in VAT and Customs Duty Services Rob Janering and Dirk Virlee, trade and investment counsellor from Flanders Investment & Trade in Belgium.

Meanwhile, Andrea Edwards, director of Global Relations and Research at University of Birmingham, has joined the panel for the Doing Business with the USA session, alongside Dr Raymond Davies from BritishAmerican Business Pacific Northwest chapter.

‘Elevating the West Midlands: International Positioning and Trade Outlook’ features Ryan Howell, the UK sales manager for international logistics firm Rohlig UK.

And Chamber president Dr Nasir Awan, who is also the boss of wholesaler and exporting business Awan Marketing, will address delegates during a ‘Going Global’ session, which will provide peer advice and insights on entering new markets.
