CAPE Coaching & Development partnered by national law firm Weightmans are flying the flag for leadership – with an exclusive roundtable event.

Unlocking Leadership Excellence in Professional Services, is to be held on Friday 7 March from 10:00 to 13:00 at Weightmans offices in Birmingham.

The event is part of the West Midlands Business Festival 2025 and is aimed at senior leaders within professional services, including law, accounting, architecture, financial advisory, engineering, and more.

Organisers say the exclusive roundtable will provide an opportunity for leaders to “explore actionable strategies, share best practices, and uncover insights that will help shape the future of leadership within their firms.”

Leaders from Weightmans and Prime Accountants will share their leadership journey, challenges faced, and the strategies they implemented to achieve business growth and positive outcomes. Their real-world experiences will highlight the tangible financial benefits of investing in leadership development.

Attendees will engage in dynamic, peer-to-peer discussions on key leadership challenges and opportunities in 2025. Topics will include the evolving role of leaders in professional services, aligning leadership development with business outcomes, and fostering high-performing teams.

The event is capped at just 25 participants to ensure a focused, high-quality experience that fosters in-depth discussions and collaboration. Due to the exclusive nature of the event, interested leaders are encouraged to register early to secure their spot.

Jawaid Rehman, partner and head of Weightmans’ Birmingham office, said: “At Weightmans we are passionate about supporting our future leaders as it is they who will enable the firm to grow and thrive and continue to best serve our people, our clients and our business.

“We look forward to sharing these ideas and more and hearing from other businesses from around the West Midlands on how we can all work together to make the region a place for people and business to prosper and lead with excellence.”

Lynsey Kitching, co-founder and director of CAPE, said: “Strong leadership in professional services isn’t just a “nice-to-have”; it’s a growth multiplier.

“Firms with robust leadership development programmes outperform others by up to 12 times in revenue and profitability growth (Bersin/Deloitte). The tension that exists between time spent on fee earning work and time on people development for professional services firms is a real challenge for leaders though.”

Interested attendees can register for the event via Eventbrite.

The roundtable will be held at Weightmans, 103 Colmore Row, Birmingham, and will be part of the West Midlands Business Festival 2025, a celebration of the region’s business leaders and innovative thought leadership.
