Birmingham Dogs Home has announced they are encouraging businesses to hold a ‘Great Birmingham Bark Off’ to raise much-needed awareness and funds for the stray dogs in their care.

The competition is running from September to October with a Grand Finale being held at Birmingham Dogs Home on Saturday 26 October.

How the competition works:

  • Hold a Bark Off at work, raising money by sharing cake with your colleagues throughout the month of October.
  • Run a little mini competition to find your own Bark Off Champion to then come to Birmingham Dogs Home Birmingham Centre for the GBBO Grand Finale.
  • Fundraisers are asked to aim to raise £100 from their Bark Off. This can help cover the costs of a dogs first week in care.

The GBBO Grand Finale will be held on Saturday, 26 October. Birmingham Dogs Home will be inviting all finalists to bring a Halloween themed showstopper bake and compete against other companies, individuals and community groups. The brief will be sent out once all entries are received and the finalists decided. The winner will be crowned their BDH Bark Off Champion of 2024.

Sophie Evans, corporate partnerships officer at Birmingham Dogs Home, said: “Everyone at Birmingham Dogs Home is really excited to see everyone’s pawsome bakes and I think equally excited to taste the bakes at the Grand Finale. We hope the competition will raise some much-needed awareness and funds in a fun and competitive way.”
