Date confirmed for Burton’s Christmas lights switch on

East Staffordshire Borough Council has announced that Burton upon Trent’s Christmas Lights Switch On will return to the market place on Sunday, 24 November.

The family fun will get underway on the main stage from 2:00pm, ahead of the lights switch on and fireworks from 5:00pm, with a funfair running until late.

The much loved annual switch on will feature a wide range of family entertainment on the main stage including live music, talent shows and fun and games.

The afternoon also sees a host of food and drink stalls, a funfair and fireworks display.

The Market Hall will also host a Christmas Lights Market from 1 to 7 pm.

Cllr Paul Walker, Cabinet Member for Tourism and Cultural Development, said: “Burton’s Christmas Lights Switch On returns again this year, not only providing residents with an exciting start to the festive season, but also encouraging people from across the Borough and surrounding areas to get involved in Burton’s festive celebrations.”
