Leading accountancy firm Crowe UK hailed its decision to sign up as a Global Patron with Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce as a key move to strengthen its service to local businesses.

After Crowe became the latest organisation to become Global Patrons, VAT Partner Rob Janering (pictured) said: “Crowe UK understands the excellent work that the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce does for its members and so becoming a Global Patron is a natural next step for us.

“We work with a range of businesses, from those just starting out to large multi-nationals, helping them to grow in their home market, to expand overseas and to establish themselves in the UK. Our experience alongside being a member of Crowe Global, a top 10 international accounting network, allows us to provide clients with tailored services and advice appropriate to their needs.

“We look forward to working with the GBGCC and its members to help continue developing and supporting the excellent businesses in the area.”

Crowe has enjoyed national growth in modern times but its roots go all the way back to the early Victorian era, when William Edwards set up as an accountant in London in 1843. Since those early days the firm has been through many incarnations to become today’s UK-wide national firm with global reach and local expertise.

The renowned audit, tax and advisory services firm has a rich history in the UK dating back 180 years to its founding by William Edwards. The firm later became Edwards and Price.

Clark Whitehill was formed in 1982 following a merger between Clark Pixley and Fryer, Whitehill and Co. The firm subsequently became Horwath Clark Whitehill (1998). Horwath International became Crowe Horwath International on April 1 2009.

On October 1, 2010 the firm became Crowe Clark Whitehill and on June 4, 2018 rebranded to Crowe.

Head of international divisions Sian Timmins said: “I am thrilled that Crowe UK have taken the step of joining the Global Chamber as Patrons, their international expertise will be a valuable asset to the Chamber, and I look forward to working with Rob and the team”.
