Crowdfunding campaign helps to feed those in need
ChangeKitchen CIC, a social enterprise providing ethical, climate-friendly catering, is encouraging Birmingham businesses to participate in their crowdfunding campaign.
By booking their catering services through the campaign, businesses will not only enjoy freshly prepared, healthy, and nutritious meals but also help provide free meals to those impacted by the cost-of-living crisis.
Funds raised through the campaign will be matched five times by Aviva and Access through the Foundation of Social Investment.
The campaign also aims to increase the health and wellbeing of local families, reduce food poverty, and create job opportunities for those facing unemployment.
ChangeKitchen CIC operates under the charity JERICHO, which offers supported work opportunities to individuals facing significant challenges in securing employment.
Birgit Kehrer (pictured), founder of ChangeKitchen CIC, said: “On behalf of the whole ChangeKitchen CIC team, we are incredibly grateful for the support and kindness of our network and the community.
“It’s a firm belief within our social enterprise that no one should be going hungry in this day and age. Many parents skip meals to ensure their children have something to eat.
“There is a real sense of shame around not being able to afford basic human needs like nutritious food.
“At ChangeKitchen CIC, we’re committed to changing that. We’re Cooking Up Change and asking people and businesses to get behind our crowdfunding campaign to make a difference this September.”
The crowdfunding campaign runs until September 29, 2024.
