Council seeks Enterprise Adviser to improve quality of career education
Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council has announced that it is looking for an Enterprise Adviser to join the team at Solihull Careers Hub.
In partnership with the Careers and Enterprise Company, Solihull Careers Hub aims to bridge the gap between education and employment. They support schools in delivering careers education and help businesses engage with schools to develop capable young professionals and recruitment pathways.
The hub comprises 24 education institutions across the Borough, including 11 sixth forms, two colleges, an Engineering, Technical College, four special educational needs (SEN) providers, two alternative provision (AP) institutions, and one pupil referral unit (PRU).
The individual should be passionate about young people’s wellbeing and futures, a team player with good planning and communication skills, and keen to share useful information and experiences that will help young people on their journeys.
The opportunity to become an Enterprise Adviser will help to improve the quality of career education in schools by volunteering with your expertise and networks. By collaborating with Careers and Education Leaders, you'll help them get a better understanding of the world of work based on your unique experiences as an employee or an employer.
Jayne Hume, enterprise adviser / relationship manager, Solihull Chambers of Commerce said: “I encourage you to volunteer as an Enterprise Adviser to provide much needed experience and expertise to support young people. This is key to ensuring they have opportunities to realise their full potential. As an enterprise adviser to Solihull Academy, it’s been very rewarding.”
Brad Parkes, enterprise adviser / founder, Making Clubs Work said: “As an Enterprise Adviser to Arden Academy, it has been immensely satisfying and rewarding to see the careers programme grow and develop over the years. We provide the school with a link to our network and the world of work, and we get to help young people create an excellent start of their future.”
Eleanor Palmer, Hub Lead, Solihull Careers Hub said: “By collaborating with Careers and Education Leaders, you'll help them get a better understanding of the world of work based on your unique experiences as an employee or an employer. You’ll be amazed how your small, yet meaningful contributions can lead to a collective impact.”
