Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council has announced it will be holding a job fair next month, Together in Solihull Jobs and Skills Fair, to help businesses connect with their local community.

The council says that by employing local residents inclusively, you will find your bond with the community becoming stronger than ever.

The event aims to promote job opportunities and employment support for residents from all walks of life. It will be a great opportunity for attendees to speak to potential candidates, diversify their recruitment strategy and build an inclusive team.

Attendees can also learn about the support offered by organisations from the voluntary sector and the council’s Employment and Skills Team to help them become an inclusive employer. Being inclusive means ensuring everyone feels valued and respected at work regardless of their differences, such as disability or race. A diverse and inclusive workforce leads to improved innovation, creativity, decision-making, productivity, reputation, engagement and business performance.

Together in Solihull Jobs and Skills Fair will take place on 18 June 2024 from 10am-2pm at Solihull College & University Centre – Blossomfield Campus. There is no charge for employers to promote their vacancies at the event.

Space is limited, so please email Solihull Council’s Employment and Skills Team to secure your place with employerengagementteam@solihull.gov.uk.
