Burton Albion Community Trust has launched a new and inclusive LGBTQ+ football session.

Starting from 16 July, the free sessions provide a safe and welcoming environment for anyone to enjoy the beautiful game, free from judgement or discrimination.

The LGBTQ+ football session will provide a safe and supportive environment for players of all skill levels to come together and enjoy testing their playing skills.

John Widdowson, head of community said: "We are thrilled to be launching this initiative. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to play the sport they love, regardless of their gender identity or sexual orientation.

“This is just the beginning of our efforts to make our club a more inclusive and welcoming place for all."

The session will take place every Tuesday night from 7 to 8pm at de Ferrers school, Trent campus, St Mary's Dr, Burton-on-Trent DE13 0LL and is open to anyone aged 18+.

Players interested in participating can turn up and play, or click here to book.
