Comedy and musical theatre among highlights of Garrick’s 2025 season

The Lichfield Garrick Theatre has launched a packed programme of shows – from comedy to musical theatre – for its 2025 season.

Among the music tributes are returning to the Garrick this year, are Dreamcoat Stars, Story of Soul and Chicago Blues Brothers, as well as exciting new additions to the programme including Sex Bomb: Celebrating the Music of Sir Tom Jones, Flowers & Friendship Bracelets - a huge pop party featuring all the best of Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, Sabrina Carpenter and Miley Cyrus - and Rock for Heroes, a night of classic rock anthems.

April brings a busy period of drama with Blackeyed Theatre’s production of Stoker’s iconic gothic novel, Dracula, and Bill Kenwright Limited’s adaptation of The Shawshank Redemption.

There are also comedy twists on classics with, Laurence Olivier Award-winner Pride & Prejudice (*sort of) or Sh!tfaced Shakespeare: Hamlet.

A comedy programme includes Tim Benzie from crowd pleaser Solve-Along-A-Murder-She-Wrote in It’s a Mystery, to the acclaimed stage production of The Dad’s Army Radio Show. 

Football fans can join Andy Townsend, Lee Hendrie and Ian Taylor for An Evening with Aston Villa Legends, an of stories, anecdotes and the inside scoop on what goes on off the pitch.

The theatre is also welcoming back a variety of local theatre companies with upcoming productions from Sutton Coldfield Musical Theatre Company (Annie), Lichfield Musical Youth Theatre (Evita, Charlie & The Chocolate Factory), Lichfield Operatic Society (Anything Goes, Rock of Ages), Walsall Operatic Society (Hairspray), Lichfield Players (Habeas Corpus, Two, The Lion in Winter) and Brownhills Musical Theatre Company (Jesus Christ Superstar).
