College hosts innovative event on AI in business and education
Burton and South Derbyshire College (BSDC) hosted a forward-thinking event on Artificial Intelligence (AI) in business and education.
The event, which took place on Friday 14 February, brought together industry leaders, educators and local businesses to explore how AI is currently shaping various sectors and the future of work.
It included discussions on the integration of AI within local industries, focusing on its impact on business operations and the evolving role of AI in the workforce.
Attendees shared their experiences and insights on how AI is transforming their respective sectors, as well as the skills and knowledge that future workers will need to thrive in an AI-driven landscape.
The event was an opportunity to network, engage in industry-led discussions and share best practice for AI adoption in business.
Key topics covered included the use of AI in business, skill requirements for AI-integrated roles and sharing insights on AI education and preparing learners for the workplace of the future.
Burton and South Derbyshire College was at the forefront of utilising AI technology for education, including a recent collaboration on an exciting joint publication with fellow further education (FE) Colleges titled, Hello Future: Embracing AI in Further Education.
The publication brought FE colleges together to share best practice, explore innovative AI applications and strengthen the sector’s commitment to preparing learners for the future.
