Charity seeks space to organise Christmas presents for disadvantaged children
Cash for Kids Midlands is in need of someone to help save Christmas by offering space to use for its Mission Christmas HQ.
Mission Christmas is part of the UK’s biggest gift giving appeal, distributing presents to disadvantaged children – from newborns up to 18-year-olds – at risk of waking up to nothing on Christmas Day.
Last year, Cash For Kids Midlands delivered Christmas to more than 16,000 children across the Midlands and Staffordshire, and this year the demand will be even greater.
The Mission Christmas HQ is the hub of this operation, where the donated presents are delivered to ready to be sorted into age groups and then picked and packed by groups of volunteers ready for collection.
The unit is needed from 20 November to 10 January in the Birmingham. Ideally it needs to be 7000 square feet or more with parking for 18 vehicles per day for Cash For Kids staff and volunteers, with access to power.
There also needs to be space for vans and cars to pull up outside to collect presents that community groups have applied for on behalf of children. Existing racking or access to racking would be ideal but not vital.
