A Birmingham-based charity that helps disadvantaged women to succeed at interviews has announced an interactive fundraising event.

Smart Works' new event will enable participants to learn about body confidence while shopping for designer wear at discounted prices.

The event, happening on Wednesday 16 October from 12pm to 4pm, costs £15 and will take place in the membership lounge of x+why at 103 Colmore Row (18th floor).

Smart Works Birmingham is a charity that helps disadvantaged women to succeed at interview and get the job.

The women they support have complex barriers to employment, with less funds to buy interview clothing and most have very low self esteem and confidence.

The charity harness the power of clothes and coaching to empower and build confidence. Their aim is to support 920 women this year to succeed at interviews.

Designer, vintage and other clothing at heavily discounted prices will be on sale during the event.

During the event, Adrianne Carter, a top expert in communication, specialising in understanding emotions and behaviour, will deliver a talk that will enable participants to harness the power of facial expressions and body language, enhancing the ability to communicate effectively, build stronger relationships, and inspire confidence.

Attendees will have the ability to learn to decode facial expressions to better understand the emotions and intentions of people, master the art of using body language to convey confidence, authority, and warmth while discovering techniques to enhance influence in both personal and professional settings.

Food is also available from the bar. For a copy of the menu and for more information, contact Lilly Clements on 07498 214 594 or lilly.clements@smartworks.org.uk
