Chamber’s International Women’s Day campaign profiles seven trailblazing women
The Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce has launched a campaign to celebrate the incredible achievements and resilience of women in the local business community.
The campaign which runs through the month of March will explore stories to discover how GBCC is fostering a more inclusive future by launching toolkits and resources to use in workspaces to #InspireInclusion and battle gender inequality, celebrate women's achievement and raise awareness about discrimination.

Ahead of the campaign, the Chamber will honour seven trailblazing women who are shaping Birmingham’s business landscape. They are;
- Trailblazing woman of entrepreneurism – Eman-Al-Hillawi
- Trailblazing woman of STEM – Abbie Vlahakis
- Trailblazing woman of culture – Caroline Miller
- Trailblazing woman of education – Vivean Pomell
- Trailblazing woman of health – Dr Sarb Clare
- Trailblazing woman of law – Kavita Mehey
- Trailblazing woman of activism – Dr Shani Dhanda
Each link will open a feature length interview with an insight into their inspirations, achievements and the women representation of their sector.
GBCC members are also encouraged to contribute their blogs and news articles throughout the month of March by contacting their relationship managers and the press and PR team of the chamber.
Meanwhile, the Asian Business Chamber of Commerce will also be organising an International Women’s Day celebration at University College Birmingham on Thursday, 7 March.
The event will feature a wide array of speakers including;
- Kali Davidson from University College Birmingham
- Samina Amin from the BBC
- Wendy Stanton from Clancy Consulting
The aim of the IWD 2024 #InspireInclusion campaign is to collectively forge a more inclusive world for women. The event, open to all genders, features a three course dinner and networking opportunities.
