Chamber adds second ‘Trading with Ireland’ course due to high demand

Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce has launched a second training course on trading with Ireland and Northern Ireland due to high demand.

The first ‘Trading with Ireland and Northern Ireland including GPSR’ course sold out following a surge in bookings.

A second date has now been added on 19 May. The online course runs from 10am to 1pm.

This highly sought-after session delves into topics such as:

  • Trade : Northern Ireland to GB

  • Trade : GB to Northern Ireland

The UK and Ireland share a strong trading relationship, with Ireland being one of the UK's largest trading partners.

In 2022, UK exports to Ireland were valued at £54.7 billion, while imports from Ireland totalled £29.1 billion, resulting in a trade surplus of £25.6 billion

Leah Quarmby, training manager at the GBCC, said: “The session scheduled for April has garnered significant interest.

“With the ongoing changes in shipping to Ireland and Northern Ireland, it became evident that customers require guidance on critical topics such as the GPSR, TSS, and The Windsor Framework Agreement.

“Addressing these subjects and more in a single, comprehensive session provides an excellent opportunity for those already trading with Ireland to strengthen their expertise, as well as for newcomers to gain invaluable insights, all in one convenient place.”
