Jodh Dhesi, chief executive of King Edward VI Foundation in Birmingham, is the latest guest on CEO Stories, the podcast from Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce.

The episode is available to listen to on all major listening apps such as Apple Podcasts and Spotify.

As CEO of King Edward VI Foundation, Jodh is on a mission to make Birmingham the best place to be educated in the UK.

He admits to podcast host and GBCC chief executive Henrietta Brealey: "It was a bit daunting when I applied for the job, but the Chair of Governors explained it well, saying that somewhere has to be, so why not Birmingham?"

Jodh talks Henrietta through an impressive career, from French teacher to leader of 13,000 students across 14 schools.

He discusses his experiences teaching in the UK and United Arab Emirates, the importance of breaking down barriers in education and personal influences from his career.

CEO Stories is a monthly podcast hosted by Henrietta Brealey, who in 2021 became the youngest chief executive in the Chamber’s history.

A new episode is published on the first Monday of every month.

Throughout the series, Henrietta is joined by a variety of well-known and emerging business leaders, who will reveal what makes them tick, who inspired them and the advice they would give to aspiring CEOs.

Seasons one and two of the podcast featured a variety of guests include former NEC Group chief executive Paul Thandi, McDonald’s franchisee Doug Wright, TV chef Liam Dillon, Birmingham Royal Ballet boss Caroline Miller and Chamber presidents past and present, Deb Leary and Nasir Awan.
