Jason Wouhra, CEO of Lioncroft Wholesale Ltd and past president of the Asian Business Chamber of Commerce, is the latest guest on CEO Stories - the podcast hosted by Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce chief executive Henrietta Brealey.

The episode is available to listen to now on all major listening apps such as Apple Podcasts and Spotify.

Jason has a saying about family businesses - "it’s like being in the mafia – once you’re in, you can’t get out!"

He is now the chief executive of Lioncroft Wholesale Ltd – a ‘carve-out’ of the renowned East Ends Foods brand which was started by his father and uncles in the 1960s.

In this episode, Jason tells Henrietta about building on his family’s legacy by making his own mark on the business – despite initially having aspirations to be a lawyer.

It’s a career that began stacking shelves on the warehouse floor as a young boy and eventually led to him negotiating the company's sale and subsequent buy-back of the wholesale arm.

Jason also opens up about the complexities of working in a family business, the mentor who helped him find clarity regarding his career goals and what the future holds for Lioncroft Wholesale.

CEO Stories is a monthly podcast hosted by Henrietta Brealey, who in 2021 became the youngest chief executive in the Chamber’s history.

A new episode is published on the first Monday of every month.

Throughout the series, Henrietta is joined by a variety of well-known and emerging business leaders, who will reveal what makes them tick, who inspired them and the advice they would give to aspiring CEOs.

Season One of the podcast featured a variety of guests include NEC Group chief executive Paul Thandi, Chamber president and Forensic Pathways founder Deb Leary, McDonald’s franchisee Doug Wright and TV chef Liam Dillon.
