Cannock Chase Chamber hosts successful speaker breakfast
Cannock Chase Chamber in conjunction with Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce hosted a successful business networking event.
The event happened on Thursday, 17 May at the Aquarius Ballroom in Hednesford, Staffordshire.
Members and non-members of the chamber were treated to an update from the Staffordshire Skills Hub, Ann Jones, on the LSIPS (Local Skills Improvement Plan) research that has recently taken place, providing business, education and policy for skills valuable information for future development and fulfilment.
Members also enjoyed a keynote speech from ACAS ' Stephen Darlison, who spoke on the topic of Diversity Equity and Inclusion.
Stephen talked about the protected characteristics EDI (Equality Diversity Inclusion) - included in the equality act, unconscious bias and the benefits of having the proper policy in place.
The event saw some great attendance from a variety of local businesses, who were keen to network and learn more about the important business principles of diversity, equity and inclusion.
The speech from Stephen was warmly received, with audience members praising the informative and insightful commentary on a crucial topic for businesses and society at large.
Speaking about the breakfast, Cannock Chase Chamber of Commerce president David Mitchell said: “This event was a fantastic opportunity to learn and engage with other businesses in the area.

The event also featured an open networking session and a chance for attendees to connect with other business owners and professionals in the area.
