Chamber members and businesses from across the Sutton Coldfield area contested the Retro Games – with a team from co-hosts PLOTT emerging as winners.

The second retro games took place in the grounds of Middleton-based lifestyle and food destination Coppice, which is also home to PLOTT, the web and branding agency.

PLOTT’s involvement with the Retro Games began after meeting founder Dennis Kennedy through the Royal Sutton Coldfield Chamber of Commerce.

PLOTT are official brand partners of the Community Games, which encompasses the Retro Games.

Managing director Anna Plotnek said: “I believe in what Dennis has created, we’re proud to partner with him. Keeping fit and active is important, and more so as many of us have desk jobs.

“This year we became ‘PLOTT88’, a Quentin Tarantino reference. It’s an iconic look, and while we’re not ninjas, we did win this year's Retro Games!”

The Retro Games event fosters a sense of community and competition, with fun games and activities reminiscent of a sports day.

Activities included classics such as the sack race, axe throwing, and welly-wanging.

Participating teams included the Royal Sutton Coldfield Chamber, Coppice, Henwood Court Financial Planning and tmWare.

Royal Sutton Chamber vice-president Kate Curry, past president Katie Hale and former vice-president Clare Whalley also formed a team.

Community Games founder Dennis Kennedy said: “Physical and social activity brings people together, creating a legacy of fitness and belonging.

“We wanted the business community to benefit too, by trying a variety of sports and games. We make sure there’s something fun for everyone.”

A further spin-off of the Community Games – the Winter Games – will take place at Sutton Coldfield Town Hall on 28 November, with details to be announced in due course.
