Business coach rallies local firms for a heartwarming charity event
A Sutton Coldfield business coach has united a group of local businesses for an event in support of the Buddy Bag Foundation.
Businesses people from the Royal Town were brought together by Meta4 Coaching founder Clare Whalley to pack rucksacks with essential items for children forced into homelessness due to domestic violence.
The event was held at Ian Hazel Funerals, who generously donated their space.
The Buddy Bag Foundation, co-founded by Karen Williams, provides vital supplies to children aged 0-16, offering comfort and care during their most challenging times.
Each Buddy Bag contains 12 thoughtfully chosen items, including a toothbrush, pyjamas, a book and a teddy bear.
The foundation addresses an alarming statistic that 48,000 children find themselves homeless every year.
“It’s so inspiring to hear Karen’s journey of where the idea was borne and how she turned the idea into the reality of building an incredible charity,” said Clare.
“Every penny raised goes directly toward supporting the children, and the Foundation depends heavily on donations of time, products, and funds. It’s a humbling reminder of the difference we can make together.”
The event highlighted not only the importance of community-driven action but also the critical challenges the charity is facing.
Recently, the Buddy Bag Foundation lost its HQ space used for bag-packing.
Karen and her team are now seeking a new location in the Sutton, Lichfield, or Tamworth.
Businesses with available space are encouraged to get in touch.
For businesses interested in team-building opportunities, Karen describes the bag-packing experience as “the best team-building event ever.”
