Built environment advisory firm supports children's hospital at Christmas
Staff members across the Acivico Group showcased their commitment to supporting their local community at Christmas by taking part in a fundraising drive for Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity.
The sustainable building firm has sponsored the hospital’s Surgical Day Care Ward over the festive period which includes the chance to volunteer at the charity’s own Christmas grotto at the hospital and raise funds to purchase a life-saving piece of equipment.
The sponsorship was obtained through Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity’s ‘Magic Makers’ scheme, which gives businesses a chance to make a difference in the lives of children who need it the most.
Five generous Acivico staff members, Marcus Passant, Lindsay Harris, Elisia Faria, Heather Crouch and Darren Hagans, recently spent the day at the grotto handing out gifts to patients and parents.
Marcus Passant, group director of People & Governance at Acivico Group, said: “Becoming a Magic Maker for Birmingham Children’s Hospital has been incredibly rewarding and getting the chance to help brave children and parents during the holidays has meant a lot to us all.”
Staff had previously voted Birmingham Children’s Hospital as their Charity of the Year, which has meant that staff are encouraged to regularly come up with inventive ways to raise much needed funds for the hospital's charity.
Marcus added: “Acivico recognises that charitable efforts aren’t just for Christmas and will be endeavoring to support BCH schemes well into 2025. I would encourage all local businesses to do the same by finding what charities mean the most to their workforce and finding out how they can support it.”
Ellie Maybury, corporate partnerships officer at Birmingham Children’s Hospital, said: “We want our wards to be filled with festive cheer and our corridors to ring with seasonal joy as we work hard to make the Christmas period as special as it can be for our kids.
“The support that the Acivico Group, and similar businesses across the West Midlands, are providing really do make a difference in the lives of our sick kids and their families and we’re grateful of their unwavering support.”
