British Chambers launch international trade survey
The British Chambers of Commerce have just launched their 2023 International Trade survey to give local business communities the change to share their recent experiences of trading overseas, with a view to ensuring that policies are in place to help businesses continue to successfully grow their international profile.
The International Trade Survey is one of British Chambers ' most influential thematic surveys and is especially important this year with skills shortages high on the political agenda. The survey 's four key focus areas are: Trends in Trade, Brexit and the TCA, Global Trade and Protectionism, Digitalisation/Artificial Intelligence.
The anonymous results will be shared directly with UK Government Ministers and Officials and will be considered when significant policy decisions about the UK workforce and skills planning are being made.
Gemma Dilkes (pictured), policy and projects officer at the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce, said: “this survey is crucial for allowing businesses to express how their overseas trade is being impacted by economic trends, Brexit, and the wider geopolitical uncertainly currently faced worldwide ”.
“Our Quarterly Business Report survey shows that there are far more exporters in our membership base than the national average, therefore I would encourage any business with international links to contribute their views to inform policies that will guarantee further success of the city-regions as a leader in international business connectivity ”
The Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce continues to work collaboratively with national and local stakeholders and businesses to tackle these issues. The recent launch of the Greater Birmingham Global Chamber of Commerce builds on the success of the former Commonwealth Chamber and complements the offering of the Transatlantic Chamber.
