Blues score with revamped hospitality and event spaces
Birmingham City Football Club’s revamped hospitality and event spaces are proving a big hit – following major investment in the summer.
The Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce patrons made significant investment in the matchday and non-matchday facilities at their St Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park stadium over the summer.
New spaces include The Boardroom, The Garrison, the Sponsors Lounge and 12 Lounge.
Designed around the traditional boardroom area, The Boardroom is a new space with increased capacity for 60 to 200 people.
Matchday hospitality in The Boardroom boasts a fine dining experience, thanks to celebrity chef and Brummie icon Glynn Purnell.
On non-matchdays, this space has taken over the traditional Kop Boxes as a perfect space for small to medium sized meetings and conferences, with partitioned breakout areas and easy to use AV equipment.
With the creative direction from Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight, The Garrison has bought the world-famous TV series to Birmingham City.
The liveliest atmosphere throughout Blues' hospitality areas, The Garrison allows Bluenoses to enjoy matchday in style – with food, drinks and a pitch view spot from the lounge.
The Garrison also lends itself to weekend and Christmas parties as well as larger conference and meeting spaces on a non-matchday.
Previously known as the Legend's Lounge, the Sponsors Lounge is the stadium's largest hospitality facility.
With LED and interactive screens throughout, the Sponsors Lounge acts as the perfect room for matchday sponsors, larger groups for special occasions and families with younger Bluenoses.
As a conference space for to 300 people, Sponsors Lounge is the stadium’s most popular facility for non-matchday events.
Midlands-based and national businesses alike have utilised the Sponsors Lounge for exhibitions, awards dinners and AGMs.
The biggest transformation at St. Andrew's @ Knighthead is the demolition of 16 boxes in the Gil Merric stand to create a long suite across the whole length of the stand.
The 12 Lounge provides fans with an American style, contemporary ‘general admission plus’ experience behind the goal, along with a stunning view of the city's skyline.
Harrison Taylor, business development manager, at Birmingham City, said: “The hard work and dedication our ownership team put into the refurbishments of our suites over the summer period has provided us with some of the most up to date and luxurious spaces across the city.
“We have always been extremely proud by our matchday and non-matchday operation here at St. Andrews and even more so after this investment.”
