International Forwarding Ltd (IFL) – a Birmingham-based independent transport and logistics operator that specialises in UK and European freight forwarding – has just turned 35.

Not only is it one of the few independent UK freight forwarders in an industry made up mostly of large and global operators, but over the past five years, it has also navigated some of the most difficult times for the freight industry, including:

• Brexit impacting its core European road freight services

• Covid-19 – when it turned to delivering essential PPE during lockdowns

Global supply chain crisis – leading to an expansion of its warehousing portfolio

Rob Pike, managing director at IFL, said: “It’s been an interesting five years for the transport and logistics industry. But I’m happy to say that we’ve risen to every challenge that’s come our way and will continue to do so.

“I’m enormously proud of our staff and what we’ve achieved together in such challenging times – from Brexit’s impacts on our core European freight services to being a key service provider during Covid-19 lockdowns.

“In this period, we’ve also expanded our warehousing portfolio and continue to invest in more energy-efficient vehicles to meet targets on carbon emissions.”
