The Belgrade Theatre is set to host Fusion 21 at Belgrade Square this weekend, a free outdoor music and creative arts event celebrating the region's talent.

The Fusion 21 event will be hosted by BBC CWR's Sandra Godley and will feature a packed programme of some of the region 's best music and artists, reflecting the vision and diversity of Coventry during its year as UK City of Culture.

BBC Introducing host Brody Swain will present a live broadcast during the day, featuring interviews and all of the backstage news and gossip.

Performing on the day will be local poet and rapper John Bernard, singing his new single British Bake Off. John 's artistry commentates on social issues, youth empowerment, faith and purpose, helping to inspire and invigorate his listeners.

Coventry-based brothers Jordan and Wesley follow John Bernard as JW Music take to the stage. With a heart for music, Jordan and Wesley have been singing together for most of their lives and are now aspiring to take their music forward to the masses by releasing their first official single.

Sandra Godley said: “I 'm so pleased to be hosting what will be a fusion of different artist styles and genres. Coventry is widely known for its 2 Tone history, and we absolutely continue to celebrate that, but our diversity extends to contemporary, soul, gospel and more. That 's why I wanted to launch this exciting event in partnership with our city 's iconic Belgrade Theatre. It will be a great family event! ”

Also performing at Fusion 21 will be BBC Introducing favourite Lorna Dea. With a flair for mixing steady pop beats and a subtle undertone of Motown, Lorna has been described as a 'real old school funk ' artist. Recently, her band have been bringing their unique sound to life with regular appearances across the UK.

Host Sandra Godley will perform a special set with gospel singer Monique, having provided vocals for a variety of leading UK artists including Beverly Knight and the acapella quintet Black Voices.

Other acts performing at Fusion 21 include steel orchestra Phase One, 17-year-old hip hop artist KANDA, West Midlands artist Rich Keogh, twins Stacey and Tracey, BBC Introducing artist Nicky Ager and South Asian mental health and wellbeing organisation Sahil.
