Belfry to host major British tournament

The Belfry Hotel & Resort, renowned for its world-class golf courses, will play host to the much anticipated Betfred British Masters 2021 from 12 to 15 May.

While the Belfry is no stranger to hosting high-profile golfing events, this will mark the British Masters' first visit to the resort since 2008.

The Belfry hosted the championship on three previous occasions between 2006 and 2008, and last year the resort successfully hosted the ISPS HANDA UK Championship, which firmly placed The Belfry back on the tour agenda.

The Betfred British Masters will be hosted by former Masters champion, Danny Willett, and will take place on The Belfry 's award-winning Brabazon course.

The course has a rich golfing history having previously hosted many significant golfing events.

Among these was The Ryder Cup, which the Belfry hosted four times - more than any other venue in the world - and 17 European Tour events.

Resort general manager at The Belfry Hotel & Resort, Chris Eigelaar said: “We are very proud to be hosting Betfred British Masters 2021 at the resort and look forward to welcoming players back to our iconic Brabazon course. The Championship will take place behind closed doors and will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Golf with the safety and wellbeing of all players, guests and staff being top priority.
