Artist shares her perspective through abstract art exhibition
Two artists have teamed up to bring their exhibition ‘A Fresh Perspective’ to The Hub at St Mary’s in Lichfield.
Jackie Roberts, who is a resident artist at The Little Shop at the Hub and a member of the Lichfield and Tamworth Chamber of Commerce, has joined forces with fellow artist John Cahoon for the exhibition.
Jackie is most recognised for her black and white line drawings of Lichfield and other local places, but she is taking the opportunity to share her lesser-viewed paintings and photographs in this exhibition.
Picking up her paintbrush again during the Covid lockdowns, Jackie rediscovered her love of painting, having not painted since school.
Her colourful oil and acrylic paintings signify her own take on a range of subjects, many featuring buildings.
Jackie says: “One of the things I like most about abstract art is the creativity it gives other people to see a painting through their own eyes; to see what they want in it and to interpret it’s meaning in their own way.”
The exhibition runs Tuesday to Saturday from 9.30am-3pm, at The Hub at St Marys in Lichfield’s market square, until 25 November.
All artworks are available for sale, with all of Jackie’s original paintings retailing for less than £100 and a proportion from each sale helping to support the Hub.
Jackie can be contacted by email jackie@love2dream.co.uk and you can follow her work on social media using @love2dreamdesigns or on her website www.love2dream.co.uk.
