Families are invited to the National Memorial Arboretum for a week of exciting free activities from 14 to 18 April.

Leading the fun is the year-round free Stick Man Outdoor Trail, alongside a variety of Stick Man themed activities including arts and crafts and music-making sessions.

The Stick Man Outdoor Trail at the National Memorial Arboretum offers a self-led journey through the woodlands, featuring five wooden character carvings and a large-scale Stick Man sculpture. Free trail sheets are available from the Arboretum’s Welcome Desk.

Families can also book to attend free daily screenings of the animated adaptation of Stick Man. With limited tickets available, advance booking is recommended to ensure entry at a preferred time.

Children can take part in free drop-in arts and crafts sessions, creating their own Stick Man-themed keepsakes to take home. These sessions provide an opportunity for families to get creative together.

Music Making sessions allow visitors to create a spring soundtrack using instruments from around the world and natural materials.

These fun, free interactive sessions are a fantastic way for families to enjoy the sounds of nature and work together to produce a unique song.

Advance booking for this activity is recommended to ensure entry at your preferred time.

Families can enjoy a healthy children’s picnic pack from the Arboretum’s Restaurant. Kids can choose their own items and enjoy puzzles on the picnic bags while having a fun dining experience in the scenic surroundings.

The Arboretum also offers two outdoor play areas for young visitors to enjoy. The Children’s Sensory Play Garden is located near the Remembrance Centre, whilst the children’s woodland play area, with its surrounding picnic benches, is the perfect place to enjoy a spring picnic and some extra fun after enjoying the Easter activities.

Rachel Smith, head of learning and participation at the National Memorial Arboretum, said: “Easter is a wonderful time to connect with nature and each other, and we are delighted to offer families a mix of fun, educational, and creative activities at the Arboretum.

“Whether exploring the Stick Man Outdoor Trail, making music, or getting crafty, we hope to inspire families to make the most of the spring season with us.
