Apprentice attends King's summer garden party
Future Faces member Santina Bunting (pictured), Geotechnics apprentice in Civil & Ground Engineering at Arup, recently attended the King’s summer garden party at Buckingham Palace.
Over the course of each year, over 30,000 guests are invited to spend a relaxed summer afternoon in the gardens of Buckingham Palace or the Palace of Holyroodhouse.
The Royal Family’s summer garden parties are an important way for members of the Royal Family to speak to a broad range of people from all walks of life, all of whom have made a positive impact in their community.
Santina was nominated to attend by Jennifer Copland, the CEO of the Institute of Apprenticeships and Technical Education. Santina is on their apprentice panel and frequently works closely with them and other governmental departments, such as the department of education, around the topic of apprenticeships.
The Prince of Wales, as well as his cousins Beatrice, Eugenie and Zara were all in attendance.
Speaking about the party, Santina said: “Although the showers poured down, that did nothing to dampen my spirits and for me to make the most of this amazing experience and honour to visit Buckingham Palace for the King’s summer party. I feel very grateful to have had the opportunity and I will continue to champion apprenticeships for all.”
