Accountants boost audit growth with partner appointment

Leading audit, accountancy, tax, and advisory firm Bishop Fleming has announced the appointment of a new audit partner as it continues its growth drive in Bristol and across the South West and Midlands.

Stuart Crisp, previously Audit Partner at Bristol independent firm Corrigan, strengthens Bishop Fleming’s Bristol-based team as demand for the firm’s audit services increases, most notably in its owner managed business market.

Stuart brings over 25 years of experience in accountancy and audit to the firm, including over a decade spent with large international firms Baker Tilly (RSM) and BDO.

During his career, Stuart has worked extensively with startups and scale-ups - particularly those that receive private equity or venture capital funding - including members and former members of the Bristol-based Set Squared, Future Space, and Science Creates communities.

He said: “Bishop Fleming has bold ambitions for growth, and I’m eager to play my part in the upward trajectory of the firm.

“The firm’s strength in Bristol was a major factor in joining the team - its rapid expansion makes it one of the largest offices in the city outside of the Big Four - and it’s clear that this is a firm with a strong reputation and a great culture.

“While Bristol is an important hub, my role will extend across the region, ensuring we continue to grow our presence beyond the city.

“With my background in working with startups and scale-ups, I’m excited to help Bishop Fleming expand its reach in the mid-market, supporting ambitious businesses as they scale.”

Managing partner, Andrew Sandiford, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Stuart into our partner group.

“He brings proven experience of managing growth in both small and large firms, experience which will add value for our client base and help to manage sustainable growth in our audit team.”
