Tudor Grange Primary Academy Hockley Heath has received a glowing report from its recent Ofsted inspection, reflecting the school's continued commitment to instilling ambition, confidence and curiosity.

The report praised the school’s commitment to creating a safe, inclusive learning environment and quoted a child saying “Teachers are good at this school. We can go to them with any problems or worries and they will help.”

This inclusive, one-form-entry primary school is known for its ‘family feel’. Hockley Heath is a leafy-green small village in the area of South Solihull. It joined the Tudor Grange Academies Trust family in 2022 and provides a high standard of education and care for children aged two through to eleven years old.

With its onsite before and after school club and wide range of extracurricular activities inside and outside of school hours, it serves the families within its community well.

The report highlights many strengths across the school, particularly focusing on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), which received praise for creating a nurturing, engaging, and stimulating environment for young learners.

Inspectors noted that its Early Years provision for two- and three-year-olds encourages a love for learning. More so, it describes the nurturing environment as “a magical place to learn and play”. They praised the use of imaginative play, hands-on activities, and a strong focus on communication and language development.

The Ofsted report commended Hockley Heath staff for fostering high aspirations for all children and for creating a learning environment that is able to help them achieve their potential.

Inspectors recounted that “pupils have many responsibilities which help them to grow in confidence and independence as they progress through school. They care for others, have high ambition and have a sense of purpose.”

Additionally, the report highlighted the manner in which the school’s focus on behaviour and attendance has also helped pupils further develop their sense of “purpose” and “ambition” and to become confident “agents of change”.

The school has a strong emphasis on early literacy and numeracy skills. Experienced staff prepare children for smooth transitions from nursery into Key Stage 1 and 2 and onto secondary school, laying a solid foundation for future academic success.

This positive Ofsted report is timely as it coincides with the Early Years admissions for the upcoming academic year. Hockley Heath is keen to welcome families into their thriving learning community which offers children a high-quality early education that sets the stage for lifelong success.

Headteacher, Lousie Porter, commented: "We are thrilled with our latest Ofsted report, which reflects the hard work and dedication of our entire school community. Our Early Years team, in particular, has shown incredible commitment to ensuring that every child receives the best possible start to their educational journey.

"Our Early Years provision is designed to inspire young minds and cultivate a love for learning, and at Hockley Heath children can receive a Tudor Grange education from only two years old. We encourage parents to visit our school, meet our passionate team, and see for themselves the nurturing and dynamic environment we provide."

Parents and carers interested in enrolling their children in Early Years at Hockley Heath are encouraged to attend an upcoming open day or arrange a personal tour of the school.
