A night of 'stirring' blues at The Hub

Lichfield venue The Hub at St Mary’s is hosting a night of music with the iconic Dana Gillespie (pictured), joined by the dynamic pianist Dino Baptiste.

With a career spanning six decades and seventy-four albums, Dana Gillespie’s journey through rock, blues and spiritual music has cemented her as a true force in the industry.

From collaborations with David Bowie to her most recent release First Love, produced by Marc Almond, Dana continues to make her mark as a trailblazing artist whose music resonates across generations.

Dino Baptiste, a master of Blues, Boogie Woogie and Rock & Roll, brings his energetic performance style to the stage.

With over 270 shows annually, Dino’s influences of Little Richard and Ray Charles shine through his lively and versatile playing. His ability to engage the audience with humour and skill creates a fun and memorable atmosphere.

Together, Dana’s powerful vocals and Dino’s spirited piano playing promise a night of musical brilliance, blending decades of experience with a fresh, vibrant energy.

The Hub creative director, Anthony Evans said: “Dana Gillespie is a legend who famously collaborated with David Bowie.

“Dino Baptiste plays a high-octane mix of Blues and Boogie Woogie. Together they create a truly powerful performance. Do not miss this!”

The performance takes place on Saturday 17 May (8pm).
