Join a talented pool of individuals striving to support a thriving business community. We are on the lookout for a Policy Advisor to join us at the Greater Birmingham Chamber of Commerce. This is a permanent position.
As a Policy Advisor at the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce, you will be responsible for supporting the Head of Policy in the delivery of policy and research projects, including the delivery of Insight and intelligence services activity
The role is crucial in leading analysis and delivery of the GBCC’s Quarterly Business Report and the West Midlands Quarterly Economic Snapshot. You will lead delivery of the GBCC’s Quaterly Business Report briefing events and take ownership of research projects, leading delivery of bespoke, end-to-end market research projects for public and private sector organisations, using a range of qualitative and quantitative research methods. You will work with the Head of Policy to propose, develop and pitch for new business in a bid to secure commercial research contracts commissioned by third parties (in line with the Chamber’s Articles of Association and values). You will present and showcase GBCC research internally, with Chamber Council and Chamber Committees and externally. You will work with the Head of Policy on the delivery of the annual Birmingham Economic Review.
To be successful, you will be educated to degree level or equivalent and have good numeracy and literacy skills. You will have experience supporting the delivery of quantitative and qualitative research. You will have strong IT skills, especially in the use of Microsoft Office packages and you will be enthusiastic, inquisitive, with a strong eye for detail and an ability to quickly assimilate new areas of policy. A full UK driving licence is essential.
