Join a talented pool of individuals striving to support a thriving business community. We are on the lookout for a Business Development Manager to join us at the Greater Birmingham Chamber of Commerce.
As a Business Development Manager at the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce, you will play a pivotal role in driving growth and expanding our member base. Your primary responsibilities will include proactively generating and managing your own pipeline of leads, organising prospect meetings, and using a consultative sales approach to understand the needs of potential member companies. You will be responsible for acquiring new customers across our comprehensive range of Chamber commercial services, including membership, sponsorship, advertising, insight & intelligence services, as well as our international offerings such as export documentation and translations.
You will utilise various channels, including networking, cold calling, and digital marketing efforts to raise awareness and interest in the Chamber with new audiences. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and enjoy representing the Chamber at a variety of events in the Greater Birmingham region.
You will be commercially astute and experienced in generating new business in a B2B environment, applying a consultative sales approach to understand a prospect’s business challenges and objectives and highlighting Chamber services that could best support their business.
The successful candidate will ideally have at least three years’ experience in a new business development, sponsorship, or sales role with a proven track record of successfully achieving targets set. You will need to be confident in delivering presentations and sales pitches and have excellent organisation, planning and negotiation skills. You will need to be able to self-generate leads as well as follow up leads generated by our in-house marketing team. You will be a proficient user of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel and ideally should have experience in managing leads using a CRM system.
