With the end of April marking the first 100 days of Trump’s presidency we will be bring together a panel of experts to give their latest insights on the impact on US/UK relations and in particular in our region.

With Tariffs being the top of Trump’s agenda but also climate change and immigration how will this impact businesses and how action can be taken.

The UK Government is actively consulting with the Chamber of Commerce network on the implications of this policy and priorities in trade negotiations and we want to hear from our members so this event will enable you to share your concerns with both members and the Chamber team.

What are the latest developments?

From the 5th April a global baseline tariff of 10% will be introduced on all UK goods imported into the USA.

This follows prior announcements on tariffs including:

  • 25% import duties on UK and global steel, aluminium and derivative products entering the USA – introduced 12th March
  • 25% additional import duties on UK and global automotive vehicles entering the USA – introduced 3rd April
  • 25% duties to apply to automotive parts imported for use in US-made vehicles – expected to be introduced 3rd May
