Managing Director, Pattrn Data
Rohit Parmar-Mistry isn’t who you might expect from the man behind an AI platform.
The thing is, he's not a tech-bro, and he didn’t even enter this field through an interest in technology specifically. In fact, he’s more interested in tech from a business-first perspective, particularly when it comes to helping SMEs simplify their operations and achieve greater success.
He’s always loved video games since he was a kid and enjoys the amazing things technology and AI can do, but he always said he’d never get into coding, preferring instead to pursue his original plan of starting a microfinance business to help fund entrepreneurs in developing countries, a passion that still drives him.
After graduating from university, he got a job in financial services to move closer to his dream, working extensively with data visualisation tools. He realised there was a gap in financial advisors’ ability to report on and analyse their clients' investment portfolios. As his career progressed, he recognized this reporting issue wasn’t unique to finance—it was prevalent across industries, especially in SMEs.
This frustrated him because SMEs are agile enough to use data in real time, while larger corporations, despite having access to reports, often fail to act quickly or receive the information too late.
This is what led him to create Pattrn—not out of a desire to build cool tech, but to unlock the doors separating entrepreneurs from business-altering information, allowing them to invest wisely, save money, and scale successfully.
Rohit feels honoured to be building this platform alongside forward-thinking, highly motivated people who are tired of reactive, backward-looking reporting and are eager to create change in real time.
