Background: Stepping into importing

Importing refers to the process of bringing goods into a country from another country or region.

Seeking knowledge and understanding the basics of importing can help you make informed decisions and avoid unnecessary pitfalls.

Understand the Import Process so you can operate smoothly.

Ways you can do this:

  • familiarize yourself: Learn about customs procedures, documentation, and regulations. Learn about tariff classifications, valuation, and duty payment.
  • Engage Service Providers: Collaborate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and shipping lines.
  • Safeguard Yourself: Ensure compliance with import regulations. Mitigate risks associated with non-compliance.
